MissionThe mission of Community Organics Recycling Education is to provide demonstrations, information and classes to educate the community on the methods and benefits of recycling yard trimmings and organic materials. Community Organic Recycling EducationProvided in cooperation with the North Central Texas Council of Governments, through grant funds from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Master Composter SeminarThe Master Composter Seminar is offered to individuals wanting to learn all aspects of composting and organic recycling. The seminar is taught by a certified Master Composter trainer and includes resource books, handouts, hands-on experience and a new compost bin. The Master Composter must be willing to train and inform others to promote community organic recycling. To become certified, you must complete 16 hours of class time and 20 hours of volunteer work. Offered in the Fall. School PartnershipTeachers from Coppell ISD and Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD (Riverchase Elementary) have the opportunity to be trained in organic recycling, which includes compost bins, teacher resource library and worm bins. Students have the opportunity to come to the compost demonstration site for tours or service learning projects. Compost Education SitesCoppell Community Garden hosts the demonstration sites located at the Helping Hands Garden, 255 Parkway Blvd. and the Ground Delivery Garden, 450 S. Denton Tap Rd.
