Waste Reduction

 

The average household is Coppell generates over 70 pounds of waste every week,
however only 21% of that waste is recycled with the new blue carts and the yard trimmings recycling programs.  The benefits of waste reduction is to save resources, save energy thereby reducing air emissions, and saves landfill space to extend the life of the DFW Landfill in Lewisville.  There are many opportunities available for citizens to learn more and participate in recycling.

 

Keep Coppell Beautiful continues to offer educational programs on backyard composting,
using the residential blue cart and the yard trimmings recycling, and recycling at the community parks and ballfields.  There are many ways to get involved by working with school or church recycling programs, electronics recycling, turning compost at the Coppell Community Garden, and, the one closest to home, learn how to use your recycling options and encourage others to do the same.
