Residential Recycling Carts

Residential Recycling Carts

How are we doing in participation and diversion?

Recent Report

Residential Curbside Recycling is offered through the refuse service at the City of Coppell.  The service was initiated in 1991 as one of the first pilots in Dallas County and has been one of the most successful programs in this area.  Coppell continues to improve its recycling services and is introducing recycling carts to the community. Each Coppell single-family household received a 65-gallon, blue recycling cart in early 2009.  Continue to follow the existing ordinance to store receptacles within the private property line for back entry and behind the building line for front entry.

Recycling diverts waste from the landfill to save resources, energy, landfill space and reduce pollution.  The recycling service is included in the Refuse Rate so residents are encouraged to take advantage of the curbside recycling service using the residential recycle cart.

For more information about the blue recycling carts, read, Recycling Cart FAQ.

"Make Your Cart Count"

Our goals are to increase the number of Coppell households that recycle from 50% to 65% and to double our diversion rate.  The diversion rate is the amount of waste (in pounds) that is recycled instead of going into a landfill.  Residents can make their cart count by taking advantage of the larger containers and the convenience that the carts provide.
