Do I need a permit to have a garage sale? What are regulations regarding signs for same?
No permit or fee is required for garage sales. Homeowners may erect temporary off premise signs referring to a garage sale held on their property. Such signs shall be erected between the hours of 6 p.m. Thursday and 10 p.m. Sunday. Signs shall not exceed six (6) square feet in area and may be placed within the city right-of-way, provided they do not project out over the street or sidewalk. Do I need a permit to repair my fence and/or put in new sections?
You do need a permit to replace an existing fence which will be in the same location as your old fence. The cost for this permit is $50.

What is the city ordinance regarding peddlers and solicitors? Can I prohibit them from coming on my property and placing flyers on my door?
City of Coppell ordinance #92538 regulates home solicitations, charitable solicitations, vending on public rights-of-ways, and handbills. Peddlers and solicitors must obtain a permit from, and register with, the Coppell Police Department. A person desiring that no merchant or other person engage in a home solicitation or place handbills or other advertisement at his/her residence shall exhibit in a conspicuous place upon or near the main entrance to the residence a weatherproof card, not less than three by four inches (3" x 4") containing the word "NO SOLICITORS."
