What's That Bird?

Cozby Library and Community Commons, Online

Have you ever noticed the birds in the pond next to the library or in the canal along Heartz Road? There are over a dozen different species of waterfowl, wading bird, and songbird that can be observed around the library during winter. Learn to recognize several different migratory species, in addition to year round bird residents, in this introduction to urban birding. You don't even need binoculars to observe most of the birds that use the waterways around Coppell! A copy of the slides will be sent to participants after the program so that you can practice identifying species on your own. While this program is designed primarily for adults, all ages are welcome to join. Children under 12 must have an adult present to participate. Only one person per household needs to register. This is a virtual program that will be held via Zoom, a free online platform for virtual programs. Register for What's That Bird? here.

If conditions permit, there will be a guided walk on Sunday, January 17 to look for some of the species discussed. Space will be very limited to facilitate social distancing and you must register for the Bird Walk separately.
