April Pools Day

Throw on your swimsuit and join us for an afternoon of pool fun at The CORE, 234 E Parkway Blvd! Enjoy free open swim in the indoor pool, door prizes and a sweet treat from Papa's Homemade Ice Cream. Everyone is welcome!

No Foolin' It's Time To Plan for Summer Event

Join us for a free public event where vendors will be providing information, activities, and programs available this summer for your family. The event is family focused and we are encouraging demonstrations of summer fun activities for kids, adults, and the entire family.

This is a great opportunity to gain exposure in this community and to bring awareness to your summer and year round services.

Coppell Lions Club Meeting
April 3

Lions Club is the largest international service organization in the world and is always looking for a few good new members to get involved with serving others in Coppell. Each meeting is a chance to get to know some very interesting people. Often, an entertaining and educational program is scheduled. Dinner is served.


Lions have FUN as they work together to better their community and help people around the globe. They need YOU to join them in fulfilling their motto, “We Serve”!  Attend a club meeting and see what Lionism is all about.

Coppell Women’s Club
April 5

Presentation by Western artist Sonya Terpening one of the few women in her field. She will share images of her paintings and insights into the history they represent. She has been selected for 22 years consecutively for the "Prix de West" at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, the top invitational show for Western artists in the U.S.

Taylor’s Gift - National Organ Donation Month
April 5

April is National Organ Donation Month. Please join us on Wednesday, April 5th at 7:00 p.m. as Tara Storch, author of Taylor’s Gift, shares her daughter Taylor’s story and how she lives on through the gift of life. Tara and her husband created the local nonprofit Taylor’s Gift, which helps promote organ donation. On Golden Pond
April 7-9

“On Golden Pond”, directed by Wheelice Wilson, Jr., opens Friday, April 7 and runs on weekends through Sunday, April 23. (NOTE: THERE IS NO PERFORMANCE ON EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 16) Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm; Sundays at 2:30 pm. Reservations are available at TheatreCoppell.com or by calling 972-745-7719.
Norman and Ethel Thayer return to the lake house that has been their vacation home for many years. Ethel fears Norman is near the end of his life, and this may be their last summer together. Unexpectedly, their estranged daughter and her new boyfriend Bill arrive for a visit, and they leave behind Bill’s son. Suddenly, youth and old age clash, but the end result brings the family closer together than ever. It was a story that Jane Fonda produced on film to star her father, Henry Fonda.

Home Expo
April 8

The Home Expo showcases businesses that deal with buying, owning and maintaining a home. Vendors range from real estate, mortgage, tile, interior designers, home protection services, yard design and maintenance, heating/air conditioning, plumbers, painters, remodelers, builders and more. These businesses will be promoting their products to the community and potential homeowners. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about these important home ideas and options. Free to the public.

Old Town Art Stroll
April 8

Stroll around Old Town Coppell with a glass of wine or microbrew while enjoying live music and public art during the Old Town Art Stroll on Saturday, April 8 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. The event celebrates Old Town Art Splash, a recent installment of 11 outdoor sculptures around Old Town Coppell and the Coppell Senior and Community Center. This first-of-its-kind exhibit is an initiative by the Coppell Arts Council to make public art accessible to the residents of Coppell.

Participants will experience musical performances including a headline performance by Mapleshade, microbrew, wine and food samplings, a swag bag, opportunities to meet the artists and more. VIP ticket holders will also receive admission to the VIP pavilion where they can enjoy hors d'oeuvres catered by J Macklin's, as well as entrance into raffles for items donated by local artists and vendors.

Sahaja Yoga Meditation quenches that thirst and with its simple yet unique method, helps one experience that state and reap the benefits. The sessions are guided meditation. All ages are welcome to attend.

Calling all musicians, writers, poets, dancers, and comedians! Sign up starts at 6 pm at the Information Desk. You may perform a maximum of 5 minutes. This program is open to all ages and any content must be appropriate for everyone. Microphones will be provided.

Eggstravaganza
April 15

Bring the kids to EGGstravaganza for a fun-filled Spring celebration! There will be more than 20,000 eggs up for grabs. Arrive early and enjoy lots of fun activities including photos with the bunny, face painting, bounce houses and balloon artists. 
Egg hunts begin promptly at 10:30 am for kids ages 6 and younger, and at 11:00 am for kids ages 7-10. Pack a picnic basket and enjoy brunch in the park before or after the hunt!

Easter in the Garden
April 15

The public is invited to help plant flowers in The Zack Thompson Foundation Children's Garden inside Rolling Oaks Memorial Center for Easter in the Garden. You are encouraged to bring a bedding plant such as petunias, impatiens or begonias. Planting shovels will be provided. Guests are also welcome to bring an Easter basket with eggs to place throughout the garden. Light refreshments will be served at this casual come and go event.

Gov't Affairs Speaker Forum
April 18

The Coppell Chamber Governmental Affairs Committee has historically taken on the role of educator in the political arena by providing monthly round-table discussions on issues of importance to the business community.

Governmental Affairs hosts the Annual State of the City Address, Candidate Forum as well as other events throughout the year.

Operation School Bell

Operation School Bell is the program working with school counselors to provide clothing and shoes to students in need in the Coppell ISD.  During the school year 2015-16 Assistance League Coppell assisted 120 children with school clothes.  So far school year 2016-17 there have been 157 request fulfilled.  Help support this cause by eating at Newk’s next Thursday and put your receipt in the jar and Assistance League Coppell will receive 15% of the receipt amount.  We appreciate Newk’s partnering with ALC to help our children.
 
Interested in Assistance League Coppell?  You are invited to attend our meeting, also on Thursday, April 20th at Valley Ranch Baptist Church 1501 East Belt Line Road with social time at 9:30 AM and informational meeting at 10:00 AM.  It’s always fun to got out to lunch, if you can, after the meeting.  There will be a demonstration of DIY projects using things around the house by Kari Smith a local Coppell Interior Decorator.  (To join us go to parking lot in back of the church, through the glass doors and turn right.)

Ecocoppell Earth Fest
April 22

Earthfest is a celebration of Coppell's commitment to the environment - an entertaining and educational experience! Visit the many environmental education booths to learn how you can lead a more sustainable lifestyle.  Don't forget to shop the plant sale, grab a bite to eat and enjoy live music by Vocal Trash. This event will also feature a rock climbing wall, photo booths, arts and crafts, and more! This year there will be a free outdoor yoga class. Bring your own mat and meet under the sundial at 10am!

During EcoCoppell Earthfest, residents doing spring-cleaning will have the opportunity to drop off a variety of items at the "Clean - Up, Fix - Up" collection at Town Center Elementary.  PROSHRED will be on-site and available to securely shred documents. Gently used household goods and clothing may be dropped off to benefit 
Metrocrest Services.   If you are interested in donating furniture items please call the Resale store and make arrangements.

Accepted donations include:

Clothing, shoes, accessories (hats, belts, purses)

Houseware items (décor, artwork, tools, kitchen items)

Toys and books.

Drug Take Back Day
April 29

The Coppell Police Department invites citizens to dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications and prescription drugs in a safe, convenient and responsible way at Drug Take Back Day.  Boxes will be set up in front of the Coppell Justice Center, 130 Town Center Blvd., providing citizens a convenient drive-up and drop off service without leaving their vehicles. No needles, asthma inhalers or illicit drugs will be accepted.

2017 Coppell Community Gala

You are cordially invited to attend the34th Annual Coppell Community Gala

The Gala is an annual community-wide event which benefits Coppell and businesses by supporting the Coppell Chamber of Commerce.  The theme for 2017 is A French Quarter Affair. Your ticket includes casino games, dinner, dancing, music and a silent auction. Tickets, reserved tables, and sponsorships are available.   Please let the Chamber know if you would like to donate something for the silent auction.

Everyone is welcome at this great event!
Tickets are only $95 - early bird price of $75 til April 16th.
