Teen Summer Closing Party

August 1  |   2 - 3:30 pm   |   Cozby Library and Community Commons

Celebrate the end of summer! This party is open to all teens who participated in summer reading, volunteering, or just want to swing by and hang out! We'll have snacks, crafts, games, and a paperback book exchange. Please bring a paperback copy of one of your favorite books & be ready to swap with someone else. While registering for the event is not required, it will help us with a head count for food and drinks. Registration opens on Monday, July 1. To register, visit cozbylibrary.librarymarket.com. For teens entering grades 6 - 12.


Pickleball Open Play

Come play a game of pickleball! All participants are required to sign a waiver before play each time. No sign-up is required and spectators are welcome as there may be a chance you can jump in if someone gets tired. For seniors ages 50+.


Coppell Farmers Market

August 3 |   8 am - Noon   |   Old Town Coppell

The Coppell Farmers Market is the best unique, small market in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Vendors feature grass-fed meats and poultry, organic eggs, artisan breads, honey, and other specialty products. Come out to the Farmers Market to find local healthy food, develop a relationship with those providing your food, meet up with friends and neighbors, and be a part of the local movement. The market is open every Saturday from 8 am-Noon. Family Camp Out

August 6  |   8 - 8:45 pm   |   Town Center Plaza

Enjoy a night under the stars! We'll meet at Town Center Plaza for s'mores-in-a-cup, sing campfire songs, and read some stories. Bring a blanket! All ages welcome. Town Center Plaza is located behind the library.


Coppell Women's Club – Welcome Back Coffee

August 7  |   10:30 am   |   Church of the Apostles

The Coppell Women's Club will once again be kicking off a new club season with their annual Welcome Back Coffee, to welcome back old members, as well as say hello to new members. 

All are welcome to attend this meeting, where you will meet other local women and learn about the special interest groups (SIGs) that Coppell Women's Club has to offer, such as gardening, gourmet cooking, book reading, wine tasting, golf and much more. Each SIG will be showcasing their activities at the meeting, and complimentary refreshments will be available.

The Women's Club is an unincorporated nonprofit group of women who share an interest in the City of Coppell. It was founded to promote friendship and a strong community among all women who have an interest in Coppell, and to preserve the charm and small town atmosphere through interesting social and cultural activities. All female residents of Coppell and the surrounding area are welcome to join. General club meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month in September, October, November, February, March, and April. Meetings offer club news, social opportunities, and club-wide programs of general interest.

Be sure to attend the annual Welcome Back Coffee if you are interested in the Coppell Women's Club. They look forward to seeing you there. For more information visit coppellwomensclub.org.

The committee consists of city staff and community members interested in ways to promote cultural inclusivity and diverse programming for all members of the Coppell community. We are always looking for individuals interested in sharing their ideas!

CPR Class

August 10  |   9 am – Noon   |   Life Safety Park, 820 S. Coppell Rd

CPR AED is an instructor-led course that teaches critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency situation until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid, choking relief, and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants. Please register online at LifeSafetyPark.org.


Coppell Historical Society Open House

Kirkland House and the Minyard Store at Coppell Heritage Park are open to the public on the 2nd Saturday of most months from 10 am to Noon.


SPOT Screening

Lions Club members will conduct a preliminary screening on children's eyes for various visual impairments. Prescriptions will not be issued. For children 6 months to 5 years old and any child with special needs.

Coppell Amateur Radio Enthusiasts (CARE)

The monthly meeting of the Coppell Amateur Radio Enthusiasts (CARE) will be at 7 pm, on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, at Cozby Library and Community Commons. The meeting is open to the public and to hobbyists alike. If you have an interest in Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) and would like to find out more about how we play a pivotal role in serving our community, we invite you to attend. Teen Library Consultants

Interested in volunteering at the library? Join us for an information session about our Teen Consultants program. Being a Teen Consultant is a semester-long commitment for library card holders in 6th - 12th grade. It offers opportunities to participate in library focus groups, attend programs as consultants, and volunteer as event support at certain programs. Applications will be available during the information session.

Wild Day: Mammals of Coppell Nature Park

August 31 |   10 am – 12:30 pm   |   Biodiversity Education Center

Learn about what local mammals call Coppell Nature Park home! We have artifacts to touch and explore, and educational materials for you to discover where these mammals live and what they eat. Wild Days are geared toward families and youth ages 3-14. These free "come and go" events feature hands-on learning/activity stations.

Coppell Pioneer Day - Vendors Sought for Historical Pioneer Day

October 12  |  9 am – Noon  |  Heritage Park in Old Town Coppell

The Coppell Historical Society invites any business, community group, or individual to plan ahead now to participate in Coppell Pioneer Day, Saturday, October 12, in Old Town's historic Heritage Park – a City park. Booth space for the community event is free to sell products with a vintage theme or fundraise by sponsoring old-timey games and crafts. A petting farm for kids, vintage games, free snow cones, early cooking and sewing demonstrations, crafting projects, and shopping during the grand reopening of the Old Minyard Store will be featured at the free event.
