City Hires Arts Center Managing Director

The City of Coppell welcomes its new Managing Director of the Coppell Arts Center.  Alex Hargis will officially start in the role on January 2.

Alex has spent his entire career as a producer, venue manager, and civil servant working with organizations to create change in their communities through arts and entertainment. With over a decade of experience working with non-profits, city governments, and corporations on bridging art and commerce, Alex has developed an obsessive passion for developing engaging content that brings people together.

Alex most recently served as the Executive Director for the Historic Downtown Plano Association where he worked with local merchants to create cultural programming that transformed the historic neighborhood into a thriving arts district. Before that, Alex helped open the AT&T Performing Arts Center in the Dallas Arts District where he managed the Dee & Charles Wyly Theater and the Center's event and sales division which oversaw 900+ events a year across four venues.

The City of Coppell Parks and Recreation Department is excited to welcome Alex and to introduce him to the community.
