Dallas Morning News special contributor, Kim Pierce has featured the Coppell Farmers Market (CFM) twice recently as the best market in the metroplex. The most recent article highlights what really sets Coppell apart - its vetting of local farms to ensure that visitors are really getting local food. Many markets allow resold items, but Coppell offers a diverse array of fresh ingredients sourced within 150 miles. The sweetest watermelon, cantaloupe, certified organic blueberries, heirloom tomatoes, Armenian cucumbers, hydroponic greens and lettuce, triple-rise cinnamon buns, colorful macarons and gluten-free quick breads are just some of the items available.
In Pierce's earlier article, How to find the best North Texas farmers market for you, she highlighted other major attractions of the CFM such as the "kid-magnet water feature", charming Old Town location, live music, and the solid community partnerships. She writes, "If ever there was a destination farmers market in North Texas, it's Coppell," and we couldn't agree more!
But, don't take our or Ms. Pierce's words for it. Come check it out for yourselves! The Coppell Farmers Market is open Saturdays, 8:00 am - noon at 768 W. Main Street in Old Town Coppell. Lone Star Electronic Benefit (EBT) and bank ATM cards can be used to purchase wooden market tokens to be used as cash at vendors' booths.
