The City of Coppell was one of 31 organizations from around the world recently recognized for innovation and efficiency through technology with a Laserfiche Run Smarter® Award. Presented at the Laserfiche Empower 2017 Conference, the annual awards honor organizations that use Laserfiche enterprise content management (ECM) software to enhance productivity through automation and improved workflow. Chief Information Officer Albert Gauthier accepted the Run Smarter Award on behalf of the City.
"We hope to continue utilizing Laserfiche and advancing integrations to improve overall productivity, efficiency, data management and security for the City," said Gauthier. "Laserfiche has been a great tool that our departments utilize creatively in order to automate workflows and improve productivity."
Designed to help organizations automate and manage documents for improved business processes, Laserfiche has been in use at the City of Coppell for 10 years and has evolved throughout the years to include extensive integrations very few others are utilizing. The City was recognized specifically for enterprise transformation and most visionary Laserfiche initiative through its use of Laserfiche Workflow, which automates routine tasks and processes saving time and reducing cost.
Workflow was used in Coppell's Human Resources department to completely automate a process that once took a month each year to complete manually. The program finds every employee in the system that must drive for their job, creates and sends a file to the Texas Department of Public Safety, collects and processes the output, then flags employees who have driving violations.
Other uses of Laserfiche within the City include extracting specific data from scanned documents using Laserfiche Quickfields, creating and automating electronic forms for a variety of business processes through Laserfiche Forms and publishing forms such as surveys on the City's website for public use then routing responses to the appropriate people using Laserfiche Web.
