Pickleball Open Play

February 1  |   1:30 – 3:30 pm   |   Grapevine Springs Senior and Community Center​

Come play a game of pickleball! All participants are required to sign a waiver before play each time. No sign-up required. Spectators are welcome as there may be a chance you can jump in if someone gets tired. For seniors ages 50+.


Theatre Coppell – Arsenic and Old Lace, by Joseph Kesselring

Two sweet little old ladies think they're doing mercy work when they poison lonely older men who come to rent a spare room in their house. They even have a special recipe that requires arsenic and just a touch of cyanide in their elderberry wine. Meanwhile, their brother who thinks he is Teddy Roosevelt and their nephew who discovers their charitable hobby must contend with the arrival of another brother, who just happens to look like Boris Karloff.

Introduction to Vegetable Gardening

Just in time for planting season! Join Keep Coppell Beautiful for tips on how to grow your own food, presented by Amanda Vanhoozier, local grower. Amanda is a passionate local food advocate who has been instrumental in the growth of Coppell Community Gardens and the Coppell Farmers Market. Chinese New Year

A new morning visitor opportunity for anyone looking for a peaceful way to start the day. Enjoy a quiet morning cup of coffee while watching the birds at the feeders and learn about a new bird each week. Coffee and binoculars provided.


Coppell Women's Club General Meeting

This month's presentation features landscape designer Nancy Payne, Master Gardener, of Roundtree Landscaping. Nancy's specialty and passion is habitat landscaping to attract birds, butterflies and other pollinators. Building Immune System Inside Out

Volunteer Orientation

Volunteer orientation is offered for those interested in assisting with the adult, family or youth educational programming offered at the BEC, such as: EcoExplorers, Wild Days, Zooniversity, Seminars, Scout programs*, Guided Hikes* and School field trips*. Orientation will cover the history of the BEC and Coppell Nature Park, overview of educational program volunteer opportunities, tour of facility, and the impact we have on the community. This orientation will help you decide which volunteer opportunities best fit your schedule, interests and skills! Make a positive impact on the community while sharing your passion for nature! Coppell Lions Club – 33rd Annual Pancake Breakfast

February 9  |   7 – 11 am   |   Smartt Hall - First Methodist Church of Coppell​

The 33rd Annual Pancake Breakfast will be held at the First Methodist Church of Coppell located at 420 S. Heartz Rd. Tickets cost $5.00 for adults and $20.00 for families max. There will also be free vision screening, free diabetes testing and the Carter Blood Drive. All proceeds benefit the Coppell Lions Club serving the Community of Coppell since 1983.

CPR-AED Class

February 9  |   9 am – Noon   |   Coppell Life Safety Park

Registration for this class is required! CPR AED is a three hour instructor-led course that teaches critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency situation until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid, choking relief, and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants. 

Things to know: This class does not provide the card needed for some professions. There is no minimum age requirement for this class; however, all registrants need to be capable of comprehending the material and participating in the activities. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to start time. This class is free of charge!

Chinestory

Learn Chinese through games and hands-on activities! Many people are overwhelmed attempting to learn Chinese with drills and memorization. Chinestory uses vivid imagery and storytelling to teach the fundamentals of the Chinese language, from the basic strokes to characters and phrases. Presented by Haiyan Fan, Ph.D.


Be Mine Daddy/Daughter Dance

Year after year, we create magical experiences at The CORE's annual Be Mine, Valentine Dance. We are excited that this year the dance will be 50's style sock hop theme! Come dressed in your 50's attire if you desire. The Be Mine, Valentine dance will be held at the Grapevine Springs Senior and Community Center with a more formal feel, including a catered meal! ​Coppell Panhellenic Hosts Meeting

All National Panhellenic Conference sorority alumnae are invited to join us for an update on various topics including our upcoming Sorority Information Session (SIS), which will be on Sunday, March 31st. Please feel free to bring a friend!

Just as the 26 National Panhellenic Conference sororities support their chosen philanthropies, so do the NPC Alumnae Panhellenic Chapters around the country including CAPA which has chosen I Support the Girls (ISTG). ISTG collects and distributes donations of new/used bras and new sealed packages of tampons and maxi pads to homeless women and girls.

CAPA participated in the December Soma Bra Donation campaign with a donation of 60 bras. For each bra donated, Soma Intimates contributed $1 to the isupportthegirls.org charity. CAPA has donated over 130 bras to the charity since beginning the donation drive in 2018.

CAPA welcomes donations of feminine hygiene items and/or any gently used or new bras you may have taking up space in your dresser drawers to show your support.​

Sensory Storytime is a fun, interactive storytime designed for children at a preschool developmental level with autism and/or sensory challenges. ​Hot Chocolate and a Hike

Explore Coppell Nature Park with an experienced Master Naturalist for a winter guided hike. Start out with a cup of coffee, cider or hot chocolate before setting out on the trails. Guests will be encouraged to sharpen their senses to explore the thrilling sights, smells, and sounds of evening activity at Coppell Nature Park. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Hikers are asked to dress weather-appropriate, wear close-toed shoes and bring a water bottle. Class is free, space is limited. Register online at www.coppellactivities.com.

​FCNP Guest Lecture Series - Benefits of Bees

Peer into the world of bees! If bees didn't exist in the world today, it would look like a very different place. These industrious insects have been around for roughly 125 million years and though bee numbers are declining, the remaining hives continue to act as resources to our planet in numerous ways. Using her background in solid science and experience in behavior health, Dr. Neelofer Basaria will discuss 8 pillars of a healthy nutritious life that are most important for substance weight loss.
