Beginning on Monday, May 21, traffic on Freeport Parkway from W. Bethel to Dividend will be reduced to one lane.
Initially, southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane. This shift will allow crews to implement the traffic controls necessary for the duration of the project.
Next, northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane and transitioned to the existing southbound left lane. This transition will result in traffic being reduced to one lane in each direction, on the existing southbound (west) lanes.
There will also be one short transition for northbound traffic back to the east side of the median through the railroad crossing because the temporary gate arms have not yet been installed.
These lane closures will be in place for the duration of the Freeport Parkway Rehabilitation project, which is expected to take 18-24 months.
