Drop in during visitor hours to learn about the Biodiversity Education Center, Coppell Nature Park and the seasonal programs offered. While you're here, learn about the local environment through self-guided, hands-on activities, books and other interactive items. Then take what you learn out on the trails to become true EcoExplorers! Check our Facebook page for weekly themes. Open to all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Free admission. No reservations required.

​Taxes and Preparing for RMD's

Taxes are constantly changing and are usually going up! Unfortunately, a portion of your tax deferred savings are now taxable again. The Foundation for Financial Education will answer questions such as:  What is the impact on my Social Security? How much can I take out? How much tax liability will this produce? ​Coppell Community Orchestra – Open Auditions

January 6  |   4 – 6 pm   |   Coppell Arts Center

The Coppell Community Orchestra invites all woodwind, brass, and string musicians in Coppell and surrounding areas to audition for the upcoming 2019 year. Auditions will be held at the Coppell Arts Center, 157 S. Moore in Coppell on January 6, 2019 from 4 to 6 pm.

To have a successful audition, please arrive early to warm up and have at least two pieces prepared that showcase your level of skill. The Coppell Community Orchestra is comprised of students, adults and community professionals with musical training of all levels. Having your own instrument and the availability to attend practices and concerts are a must. We look forward to meeting you on January 6 and expanding the Coppell Community Orchestra.

The Coppell Community Orchestra is a non-profit organization that provides educational opportunities for musicians and patrons in and around Coppell. Special Travel Presentation

Bitten by the travel bug? Join Chris Keith from Premier Discovery Travel for a special presentation about Switzerland, France and Christmas Markets on the Rhine for December 2019. Highlights of the trip include Lucerne, Strasbourg and six nights aboard the Amadeus Silver II. Presentation will be at the Coppell Senior and Community Center.​

Coppell Community Chorale First Spring Rehearsal

The Coppell Community Chorale will begin rehearsals for its spring semester at 7 pm on Monday, January 7. Do you love music? Do you love to perform? Then Coppell Community Chorale is just right for you! The CCC is open to individuals 14 years and older who can carry a tune. No auditions, the ability to read music or formal voice training is required to become a member. The Chorale rehearses Monday evenings from 7-9 pm at the Coppell Center for the Arts, 157 S. Moore Rd. ​Sensory Storytime

Sensory Storytime is a fun, interactive storytime designed for children at a preschool developmental level with autism and/or sensory challenges. Frontiers of Flight Museum

Seniors! Explore the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field with us and see over 30 aircraft and extensive display galleries. Popular collections include early biplanes, historically important military and general aviation aircraft, the World War II exhibit and much more. Take a chronological walk through the development of human flight from the Leonardo da Vinci parachute to space exploration. We'll have lunch at a local restaurant after the museum. Register by January 2. For seniors ages 50+.


​Upcycle Splendor

One morning a month, we will transform "yesterday's treasures" into "today's trends." Bring the upcycle item of the month from home, then we will repurpose it together. Men's Basketball League

Lions Club members will conduct a preliminary screening on the children's eyes for various visual impairments. Prescriptions will not be issued. A signed and completed waiver form is required for each child. For children 6 months to 5 years old and any child with special needs.

Explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math with hands-on activities! Kids in grades K-5 are invited to challenge your brain to think critically and creatively. Each month will be something new.


Hot Chocolate and a Hike

Explore Coppell Nature Park with an experienced Master Naturalist for a winter guided hike. Start out with a hot cup of coffee, cider or chocolate before setting out on the trails. Guests will be encouraged to sharpen their senses to explore the thrilling sights, smells, and sounds of evening activity at Coppell Nature Park. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Hikers are asked to dress appropriately, wear close-toed shoes and bring a water bottle. Space is limited. Free. Pre-registration is required for all participants at www.coppellactivities.com.


Teen Nite Tonight

FCNP Guest Lecture Series – Dinosaur George

Dinosaur George is a traveling museum and assembly program that teaches school students and dinosaur enthusiasts about the amazing creatures that once ruled our planet. With live visual relics and assembly programs, your event will become an event that will be remembered for a lifetime. Dinosaur George offers dinosaur relics of all kinds for those who collect our prehistoric history. From rare dinosaur replicas to children's dinosaur books and videos, Dinosaur George has something for everyone. There are two shows, one at 10 am and an additional show at 11 am. Admission is free. Meet Your Immigrant Neighbor

Old Red Museum

Dedicated to inspire and educate visitors about the rich and varied cultural, economic, political and social history of the Dallas County Area, the Old Red Museum serves as a symbol of Dallas heritage. The beautifully restored Old Red Courthouse contains some of Dallas County's most fascinating historical artifacts, with a special exhibit gallery located on the first floor and the second-floor housing exhibits, interactive touch screen computers, an educational learning center and four mini theatres. Wild Day – Birds of a Feather

Fly down with your flock to the Biodiversity Education Center to learn all about birds! We will be learning about different types of birds and how adaptations help birds in their environment. Discover what types of foods attract different birds and make your own bird feeder. Take your feeder home or donate it to be placed behind the Coppell Nature Park bird watching wall.


Five Money Questions for Women
