Donation Drive

When we think of donation drives, we first think of canned goods during the holiday months, but hygiene items are in high demand all year long. This summer, the library will be collecting hygiene items like shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, baby wipes, and laundry detergent for Metrocrest Services.

A full list of requested items is available at the Information Desk and on the donation box in the lobby. All donations will go to Metrocrest Services in Farmers Branch. To find out more about Metrocrest and the aid they give to our community, please visit www.metrocrestservices.org.

Day/Twilight Camp - Themed camps held in local communities during the day and into the evening; Volunteer run and managed.

Resident Camp - 3-10 day overnight camping on the water at Camp Rocky Point or Camp Gambill or with the horses at Camp Bette Perot.

Adventure Day Camp - Hands-on Day Camp sessions offered at the STEM Center of Excellence and at partner locations. Transportation between Headquarters and STEM Center available on select weeks.

Splish Splash Storytime

A special storytime at the pool! The CORE and the Cozby Library are partnering again this summer to offer Splish Splash Storytime, in conjunction with Tot Swim. Meet at the pool for stories, songs, splashing, and fun! Storytime is free and will take place in the outdoor pool. Those who wish to stay and swim can do so until 12:45 pm. If you would like to stay and swim after 12:45 pm, you will need to have a CORE membership, punch pass, or pay the regular day pass rate.  For parents and children up to age 8. The CORE is located at 234 E. Parkway Blvd.

Summer Teen Workshops

For teens entering grades 6-12

Build A Bird Feeder - Build a bird feeder using upcycled milk jugs and plastic bottles. Learn how different types of foods attract different birds, as well as the importance of water and cover habitats. Take your bird feeder home or donate it to be placed behind the Coppell Nature Park Bird Watching Wall. This workshop is brought to you by the Biodiversity Education Center.

Pioneer Day – Old Town

Ever imagine what Coppell looked like when first settled? Now you have your chance at the first annual Pioneer Day. The event will be held at the Farmers Market and Old Town Area, and will celebrate the heritage of Coppell. Adults and children can learn about the history of Coppell, partake in activities and watch demonstrations.

Formosa Association Cultural Festival

Formosa means "Beautiful Island" and refers to the island in East Asia, Taiwan. Learn about the culture and history of Taiwan

Chef Demo

June 17  |  10:00 am  | Coppell Farmers Market

Food Network Star, Best Selling Texas Cookbook Author, and hometown gal Sarah Penrod cooks using fresh, local ingredients from the market and chats about her favorite food adventures in and around North Texas. The chef demonstration will begin at 10:00am and will take place in the greenspace next to the market pavilion, beneath the cover of blue Coppell Farmers Market canopies.

Ready for your Closeup?: Acting for TV/Film

Learn skills necessary to audition for TV/Film projects including slating, interviewing, reading from teleprompter, and more.

Additionally, each camper will participate in their own professional photo shoot. Ages: 7 - 13.

Salesforce for Youth

The Dallas Salesforce Developers Group will conduct a one-day training program on Salesforce.com for students in grades 9-12. This training will provide an overview of cloud-based computer platforms and customer relationship management (CRM), and equip students with the tools and skills to build a Salesforce CRM application.
