Coppell Youth Soccer Association Spring Registration

The Coppell Youth Soccer Association is registering for three different groups for spring. 


CSC – Veterans Day Crafts

November 1  |   1 – 3 pm   |   Coppell Senior and Community Center at Grapevine Springs

In honoring our veterans, come and create arts and crafts that will be used as decorations for the luncheon the following week.


Mercy Run

November 2  |   7:30 – 9:30 am   |   Josey Ranch Athletic Complex - Carrolton, TX

The Mercy Run 10K/5K/Fun Run charity event is the annual fundraiser for TeamMercy.org. Participants will receive a medal and cupcake at the celebratory finish line. Run for a cause. Dungeons and Dragons Workshop

November 2  |   1 – 5 pm   |   Cozby Library and Community Commons

Creativity. Interaction. Mental Math. Storytelling. Problem Solving. Critical Thinking. Dungeons & Dragons has it all! Join us to learn about the roleplaying game that has brought adventurers together for over four decades. Attendees will learn about character creation and game mechanics. Long-time adventurer Randy Alexander will provide character templates, dice, and campaigns for attendees to use. The workshop length allows ample time for hands-on learning and play. This program is for adults, teens, and elementary school age kids accompanied by an engaged adult. Suited for people who have never played D&D and novice to intermediate players.


Read to a Teen

Did you know that teenagers can be great listeners? Come join us at Read to a Teen, where children working on reading independently can buddy up with a teen and read aloud to them. The teens will be happy to help readers by sounding out or explaining words. Children can bring their own books or use ours! We'll have a variety of beginning readers, picture books, and chapter books available at the event and in the library. For kids in grades K - 5.

Intermediate/Advanced Pickleball Open Play

Family Game Night

Coppell Women's Club

Coppell High School Madrigal Choir

Come hear this fabulous 19-member costumed choir sing in the form of vocal chamber music originating in Italy during the 14th Century.

The Women's Club is an unincorporated nonprofit group of women who share an interest in the City of Coppell. It was founded to promote friendship and a strong community among all women who have an interest in Coppell, and to preserve the charm and small-town atmosphere through interesting social and cultural activities. All female residents of Coppell and the surrounding area are welcome to join. General club meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month in September, October, November, February, March, and April. Meetings offer club news, social opportunities and club-wide programs of general interest.

CSC – Veterans Day Lunch

Join us as we say "thank you" to and honor our veterans at this special tribute. Wear patriotic attire or uniforms. You can also bring military items, including pictures, uniforms, memorabilia to display at the lunch. Please register by October 28.


SPOT Screening

Lions Club members will conduct a preliminary screening on children's eyes for various visual impairments. Prescriptions will not be issued. For children 6 months to 5 years old and any child with special needs.


After-School Eco Explorer

CSC – Heritage Farmstead Museum

November 7  |   11 am – 3:30 pm   |   Coppell Senior and Community Center at Grapevine Springs

Join us for a trip to Heritage Farmstead Museum in Plano. The museum contains 10,000 objects and archival materials relating to Blackland Prairie life in North Texas from the Victorian Era in 1890 to 1920. The collection is used to furnish the museum's historic buildings and is protected and preserved. We'll have lunch first and then head over to the museum for a docent-guided tour. Walking intensive. This trip is limited to 23 people, so register early! Please register by October 25.

Fueling with Fats

Learn the important roles fat plays in the body, the potential damage caused by a low-fat diet, and what types of fats you need to be eating vs. avoiding. Free for CORE members with no sign-up required. Non-members can purchase a day pass ($4 for Coppell residents or $6 for non-Coppell residents) at the front desk to attend. 


Comanche Stories

November 7  |   7 pm   |   Cozby Library and Community Commons

November is Native American Heritage Month. Lance Tahmahkera, the great-great grandson of Comanche Chief Quanah Parker, will discuss Comanche history, culture, and life on the plains. Mr. Tahmahkera will bring heirlooms such as buckskin clothing, beadwork, regalia, and more. This program is for older teens and adults.

Pickleball Open Play

Come play a game of pickleball! All participants are required to sign a waiver before play each time. No sign-up required. Spectators are welcome as there may be a chance you can jump in if someone gets tired. For seniors ages 50+.


Coppell Farmers Market

The Coppell Farmers Market is the best unique, small market in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Vendors feature grass-fed meats and poultry, organic eggs, artisan breads, honey, and other specialty products. Come out to the Farmers Market to find local healthy food, develop a relationship with those providing your food, meet up with friends and neighbors, and be a part of the local movement. Coppell Historical Society Open House

November 9  |   10 am – Noon   |   Kirkland House

Kirkland House and the Minyard Store at Coppell Heritage Park are open to the public on the 2nd Saturday of most months from 10 am - Noon. The Old Minyard Store will have old-fashioned candy and postcards of historic Coppell for sale.


Paws on the Trail

November 9 |   11 am – Noon & Noon – 1 pm |   Biodiversity Education Center

Bring your furry friend for an adventure on the Coppell Nature Park trails. We're "paw"sitive that you will have a good time. Discover new terrain for outdoor time with your dogs with a hike led by Master Naturalists. Two hikes are offered: 11 am hike is for small dogs only and the Noon hike is for larger dogs. Dogs must be on a leash at all times. Admission is free, but donations in the form of a can of cat or dog food is encouraged and will be given to Coppell Animal Services. Registration is required.


Coppell Historical Society Meeting

The Coppell Historical Society meets at Infeldt House on the second Saturday of the month from 1 - 3 pm.  A short program concerning some aspect of Coppell history is given prior to the business meeting. Visitors are welcome.


Coding Fundamentals

Come learn coding fundamentals at the library! You'll have the opportunity to learn, create and present your own code during this two-hour program. For teens in grades 6 - 8. Sign-up is required. Presented in partnership with Wize Academy.


Page Turners

Rally for the Cure

Wagon Wheel Tennis Center and Tennis in Coppell are partnering for the fourth year with Susan G. Komen to Rally for the Cure! Join us for an important cause, team tennis, and social pickleball. The social tennis will be co-ed team-based doubles with teams of eight players. The social pickleball will be a round-robin, luck of the draw challenge format.  Each player will play one game with and against someone different by means of a random drawing. Each game will be timed for 8 minutes. For additional event details, click here. You Can Paint Workshop for Youth

You'll amaze yourself, family and friends with the beautiful oil painting you can finish in this fun and inspiring class. Learn color mixing, time saving brushstrokes and step-by-step instruction from professional artists from the Robert Garden School of Art. You'll be proud to frame and hang your finished masterpiece. All supplies are included, bring paper towels and wear old t-shirt. For ages 5 – 13. Registration required at coppellactivities.com.


You Can Paint Workshop for Adults

Even if you've never held a brush or can't draw a straight line you'll be amazed at the beautiful oil painting you can complete in one fun and easy lesson with all supplies furnished. Free CPR Class

CPR AED is an instructor-led course that teaches critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency situation until emergency medical services arrives. Skills covered in this course include first aid, choking relief, and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants.  Please register online at LifeSafetyPark.org.

Document Shredding

November 16 |   8 am - Noon   |   Coppell Service Center

Coppell residents are invited to stop by the City of Coppell Service Center, 816 S. Coppell Road, to securely shred documents. ProShred will be out to safely shred documents on site. Residents can drop off up to four boxes (maximum size of each box being 9" x 12" x 17,"or the size of a bankers box) between the hours of 8 am and noon and make the most of the trip by stopping by the Coppell Farmers Market afterward. All shredded paper will be recycled, and your container will be returned to you. Residents are encouraged to come early to ensure space in the truck for their documents.

The 2019 Artisan Market is an excellent place to start your holiday shopping or find that special gift! Free popcorn to enjoy while you shop will be served from 10 am - Noon. Snakes & Reptiles

Roger Sanderson, Director of Horticulture for Texas Discovery Gardens, will discuss snakes and reptiles of North Texas. This very interesting presentation provides "hands-on" opportunities with these critters. Roger is one of the state's highly acclaimed instructors on this subject. Don't miss this interesting lecture. Admission is free. Registration is required.

The meeting is open to the public and to hobbyists alike. While you're here, learn about the local environment through self-guided, hands-on activities, books, and other interactive items. Then take what you learn out on the trails to become true EcoExplorers! Check our Facebook page for weekly themes. Open to all ages, but children must be accompanied by an adult. Free admission. Craftsgiving: Crafts with a Cause
