Roadwork on S. Belt Line Road Begins March 19

Under the direction of the City of Coppell, Dallas County Public Works will begin roadwork on South Belt Line Road between Southwestern Parkway and Hackberry Road on Monday, March 19. The City will lay asphalt on both the northbound and southbound sides of South Belt Line Road. The asphalt overlay will begin on the north side, and workers will shift the construction zones until all areas have been completed. Weather permitting, construction on South Belt Line is estimated to be completed by Monday, April 9. Portions of the roadway will be closed while the work is completed. Please plan ahead and seek alternate routes.

Once the roadwork on South Belt Line is complete, asphalt overlay work will begin on South Royal Lane, between Sandy Lake Road and IH-635.

City Council approved the asphalt overlay during the February 13, 2018 meeting. The City of Coppell is working in conjunction with Dallas County on this project, which presents a temporary solution that will allow for a smooth ride for drivers as traffic on these roads increases while Freeport Parkway is under construction. The asphalt overlay will be removed in the coming years, once Freeport Parkway is completed and concrete reconstruction begins on South Belt Line and Royal Lane.
