To enhance awareness of the community’s diversity through collaborative partnerships.

Who We Are

The Community Builders consists of city staff and community members interested in ways to promote cultural inclusivity and diverse programming for all members of the Coppell community.

Meet Your Neighbor Series

The Meet Your Neighbor Series provides an opportunity to hear a panel of community members share their personal stories. In order to build deeper understanding and empathy, audience members can ask questions of the panelists in a safe and comfortable environment. This is an chance for community members to share their experiences and learn from each other without debate.

This series won the Upstart Library Innovation Award in 2021. The Demco/Upstart Innovative Programming Award recognizes two libraries – one school and one for all other library types (i.e., public, academic, special) that have implemented innovative programs that other organizations can drawn upon, adapted, replicated and scaled to fit the unique characteristics of their institutions and the communities they serve. Past topics have included immigrants, people of different faiths, the LGBTQ community, living with disabilities, conversation on racism, the Asian community, and the Hispanic community.
