Membership on each board requires at least 12 months of residency and to be a registered voter of the City of Coppell. Some boards may have additional requirements specified in the Code of Ordinances. All board members are appointed by the City Council to serve 2-year terms unless specified.
Applications are accepted during the annual recruitment beginning in August through September of every year. Followed by interviews in October. Appointments are approved by a motion during a regularly scheduled City Council meeting in November. During the December City Council meeting, a ceremonial swear-in is held for all recently appointed members.
