Summer Reading Challenge

May 21 - July 31

It’s easy to participate in the Summer Reading Challenge! Pick up a reading log at our Summer Reading Kickoff event or at the library. Each day you read (or are read to) for 20 minutes, color in a box on the reading log. Fill out the entry slips and return them to the library to win a FREE book and to be entered into the grand prize drawing. The first day to log your reading is Saturday, May 21. The last day to log your reading is Sunday, July 31. All ages can participate in the Summer Reading Challenge.

Early Literacy Reading Log (Ages 0 - Pre-K)
Elementary Reading Log (Entering grades K - 5)
Teen Reading Log (Entering grades 6 - 12)
Adult Reading Log

Additional 30 Day Reading Log for All Ages

Have you been a Superstar Reader this summer? Read for another 30 days for an extra Grand Prize Drawing entry!

Read/Listen Everyday

We encourage everyone to read or listen to someone read every day for at least 20 minutes during the Summer Reading Challenge. The 20 minutes of reading each day do not need to be consecutive. Reading to someone else counts towards your reading log. Prefer audiobooks? That counts too!

All participants that complete 10 days of reading can receive a free book of their choice from the Summer Reading Book Prize cart. Summer Reading participants will be entered into the grand prize drawing for every entry slip that is completed and returned by July 31. Winners will be picked from each age group (early literacy, elementary, teen, and adult). Teens can circle their favorite theme on the reading log entry slips to get a customized prize basket. Adults can circle their choice of grand prize on the reading log entry slips. Grand prizes for adults include two tickets to A Merry Cirque at the Coppell Arts Center, Amazon gift cards, and large library tote bags.

Congratulations on reading all summer! Let’s celebrate! You’re invited into the library for games, crafts, face painting, and more. Then head outside to picnic with burgers from the In-N-Out truck, ride a trackless train, and cool off with paletas! While supplies last. Free tickets for In-N-Out will be handed out during the program in the library. We’d like to thank In-N-Out and the Friends of the Library for making this event so special!
