[ARCHIVED] Andrew Brown Park West Trail at Denton Tap Bridge to Close Beginning November 21

Aerial map of Denton Creek trail closures

Beginning the week of November 21, a section of Andrew Brown Park West trail at Denton Tap Road will be closed for construction. Construction is expected to last approximately 6-8 weeks, weather permitting.

Crews will insert gabion baskets, small structures made of metal and rock, at the base of Denton Creek to minimize erosion. The construction is necessary to prevent further erosion of the creek and to minimize the risk of flooding downstream.

As a result of the construction, the section of trail that follows Denton Creek underneath Denton Tap Road and connects to Andrew Brown Park Central to Andrew Brown Park West will be closed. During construction, park users should follow all detour signs throughout the parks. Detour information and suggested alternate routes can be found at coppelltx.gov/981.

City Council approved the contractor, A & B Construction, LLC, for this grade control project. For more information about the work or other construction projects in the city, contact the City of Coppell Public Works Department at 972-462-5150.
