Don’t put off those spring projects just because you don’t have the right tools. Rent a variety of tools and equipment for property cleanup and improvement projects free of charge through the City of Coppell’s new Tool Lending Program.
Starting in February, Coppell residents over the age of 18 will be eligible to borrow individual tools from the City’s Tool Lending Trailer by filling out a user release form and an online application. Upon review of the application and equipment availability, tools will be delivered by staff and can be borrowed for up to a week. Available tools include a lawn mower, bow rake, round shovel, leaf rake, loppers, shears, push broom, hard hat, and safety glasses.
Service organizations and Neighborhood or Homeowners Associations are eligible to rent the entire Tool Lending Trailer for a weekend with a $100 deposit. A representative must complete an online request form and all users must sign a user release form. The deposit is refundable when the trailer is returned with all contents in good condition.
“The Tool Lending Program is a way for people to keep their properties tidy, connect with neighbors, and take pride in their neighborhoods without barriers,” said Community Development Project Coordinator Katie Crawford. “Rather than purchasing and storing a tool that may get used once or twice a year, the program provides a practical and cost-effective solution for tackling individual or group property improvement projects.”
