September 2 - 28 | 9 am – Noon Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday | Biodiversity Education Center
Drop in during visiting hours every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday to learn about the Biodiversity Education Center, Coppell Nature Park, and the seasonal programs offered. While you’re there, learn about the local environment through self-guided activities and interactive resources. Then, take what you learn out on the trails to become true EcoExplorers!
Coppell Historical Society – Kirkland House Tours

Built in 1904, the Kirkland House was the family home of John M. And Edna Jeanette Kirkland and their children Hubert, Lois, Sallie, Jewel (Jack), Stringfellow, Louise, Carroll and one who died in infancy. It was moved from its original location 474 feet due west and restored in 2011 by The Jean and Price Daniel Foundation, the Coppell Historical Society, and the City of Coppell.
FCNP Guided Hike: Nature Photography
September 2 | 9 - 10 am | Biodiversity Education Center – Coppell Nature Park
Join the Friends of Coppell Nature Park for a guided hike to discover the wonders of the local ecosystem. The hike will be led by Brennan Fruge, Digital Art and Photography instructor at Coppell High School. Bring your professional camera and lenses if you have them. The tips and techniques shared by Mr. Fruge will be easier to try out on a professional camera than on a phone camera. Participants should wear protective clothing and bring a water bottle. Registration is required for each participant. Children must be supervised by an adult caregiver.
Saturday Make & Take Crafts
September 2 | 9 am – Noon | The Mr. Cooper Group Lobby Gallery
How about a fun, creative start to your weekend? Bring your family to the Coppell Arts Center located in Old Town Coppell one Saturday each month for free make-and-take craft workshops. Stop by anytime between 9 am to 12 pm to create your craft. Kids will receive a do-it-yourself craft kit that they can assemble and customize at art stations inside the Coppell Arts Center. A parent must accompany all children at all times.
Exploring Nature Series: Budding Curiosity – Observing Nature
September 6 | 10 am | Biodiversity Education Center
Naturalists use tools to make observations about the environment. One of those tools is the monocular. Using properties of light and refraction, we will create a monocular and then put it to practical use on a hike. Adults are encouraged to actively participate with their children as we enjoy learning together. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited and registration required for each participant. For ages 4 – 9.

Nature and Forest Bathing

Join Laurance Turcios, certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy for a beautiful and inspirational program. Forest Therapy is a relational practice that brings people into deeper intimacy with natural places. Registration is required. Due to the specialization of this class, enrollment is limited. For ages 18+.
Grand Opening Housewarming Party & Ribbon Cutting – Metrocrest Services
September 12 | 4 – 6 pm | Metrocrest Services - 1145 North Josey Lane, Carrollton
Join Metrocrest Services as they celebrate the official opening of their new home! Located in the heart of community need, Metrocrest Services provides hope through programs that lead to self-sufficiency and foster independence. Remarks from CEO Tracy Eubanks and joint ribbon cutting with the Coppell, Farmers Branch, and Metrocrest Chambers will be at 4:30 pm. Light refreshments and building tours will be provided. Financial Workshop – Manage Your Cash Flow Effectively

Keisha Allen, Financial Wellness Leader Assistant VicePresident at Truist, will be leading participants through the workshop. Keisha is a motivating and collaborative leader with a vast amount of experience in the Retail and Financial Services industry. Her experience includes: Retail banking, Home Equity, Mortgage Operations/Originations and Financial Wellness. Over the years, Keisha has utilized her training and coaching techniques to create platforms to inform members in the community on topics such as budgeting, saving, home ownership and entrepreneurship. Her passion for helping others ultimately lead her to her current role as a Financial Wellness Leader with Truist. In her current role, she’s able to live out her passion for coaching, training, motivating and inspiring others by helping members in the community accomplish their best with financial literacy. The Blooming Curiosity series is a drop-off program that expands the learner’s perception of nature by considering local wildlife in the context of its environment through indoor learning stations and field-based discoveries in Coppell Nature Park. Metrocrest Community Job Fair

Metrocrest Services and the Carrollton Public Library have partnered to bring together employer and employee in the annual Metrocrest Community Job Fair, sponsored by Dallas College. At the job fair, a variety of employers from the following industries will be present: Home Health, Light Industrial Work (temp-to-hire and direct hire), Hospitality, Insurance and Supply Chain Management. September Paint & Sip: Fungus Among Us

Art, Sip & Stroll
September 22 | 6 pm | Coppell Senior & Community Center
Join Coppell Arts Council for their annual fundraiser, Art, Sip and Stroll! The event will begin at the Coppell Senior and Community Center, and from there you will stroll through Old Town with a glass of wine or cold beverage while enjoying public art, art exhibits, musical performances and tasty food truck offerings. Theatre Coppell – The Mouse Trap

The Mousetrap is a murder mystery play by Agatha Christie. As news spreads of a murder in London, a group of seven strangers find themselves snowed in at a remote countryside guesthouse. When a police sergeant arrives, the guests discover – to their horror – that a killer is in their midst! One by one, the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts. A "Whodunit", the play has a twist ending, which the audience are traditionally asked not to reveal after leaving the theatre. Purchase tickets.
Community Picnic & Resource Fair

The Community Picnic is a family-friendly celebration of the Grand Opening of Metrocrest Services’ new home. We’ll have hot dogs, a variety of activities for children, and information on community resources available to individuals and families in our community. Admission is free and open to the public!
