[ARCHIVED] ecoCoppell Earthfest at the Biodiversity Education Center

Celebrate the great outdoors at the City of Coppell’s annual ecoCoppell Earthfest! Both entertaining and educational, ecoCoppell Earthfest is an opportunity to learn about sustainable living while exploring nature at the same time. The community celebration of Coppell’s commitment to the environment highlights the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy earth for future generations and educates residents on ways to lead more environmentally sustainable lifestyles. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, April 24 from 11 am - 1 pm and has a new location at Coppell’s Biodiversity Education Center!

A variety of interactive educational booths will cover topics such as waste reduction, water conservation, air quality and conserving natural resources, as well as numerous ways the public can reduce their impact on the environment. Organic plants will be for sale at the annual plant sale, with all proceeds going to the Coppell Community Garden.

The entire family will enjoy many activities at the Biodiversity Education Center and throughout Coppell Nature Park, including a composting demonstration, sustainable craft kits, eco-friendly giveaways, and other hands-on activities for all ages! City of Coppell staff have been hard at work to develop a safe and enjoyable experience while adhering to COVID-19 safety protocols. Masks and physical distancing of 6 feet are encouraged at all times during the event.

Document shredding will be available at the Coppell Service Center, located at 816 S. Coppell Rd. Household hazardous waste and electronics will not be accepted at this event; however, these items may be disposed of once a month through Republic Services by calling 972-304-3555.

Keep Coppell Beautiful (KCB) and ecoCoppell partner with the City of Coppell to bring this event to the Coppell community. KCB strives to involve individuals in promoting education and activities that encourage waste reduction, litter prevention, beautification, and environmental sustainability. In addition to their education efforts, KCB sponsors environmental education classes and community-wide clean-ups. ecoCoppell is committed to improving environmental standards through providing opportunities for the City of Coppell to promote and continually improve the efficient use of resources.
