City of Coppell Holiday Scavenger Hunt
Through January 7
There are five holiday ambassadors hidden around town. Can you find all of them and win a prize? Simply solve the clues posted on the City’s Facebook, Twitter or Instagram pages (one per day November 30 – December 4), snap a photo with each ambassador, upload photos to social media with the hashtag #coppellholidays, then stop by Town Center to claim your prize while supplies last! FCNP Wildlife On The Move: Amazing Adaptations

Join Mr. B for his extremely popular live animal program! See and learn about some unusual structural and behavioral adaptations that make it possible for some of our more interesting critters to survive. This program is hosted by the Friends of Coppell Nature Park FREE of charge. There are two class times offered and all participants must register for the 10 or 11 am presentation. Space is limited. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Second Saturday Storytime

After storytime, the Cozby Library and Community Commons invites you and baby to stay, socialize, and play with a variety of age-appropriate toys! Space is limited, so plan to arrive early. What’s That Bird?

There are over a dozen different species of waterfowl, wading bird, and songbird that can be observed around the library during winter. Learn to recognize several different migratory species, in addition to year-round bird residents, in this introduction to urban birding. While this program is designed primarily for adults, children age 10 and up are welcome to join.

Come craft with Cozby Library and Community Commons! Join them for a painting craft led by Teresa Mungo, a Coppell resident & crafter extraordinaire. Mrs. Mungo led several virtual crafts in summer of 2020, and they’re excited to learn from her in person! Supplies provided. Since acrylic paints will be used, participants should wear clothing they don’t mind getting dirty. Registration is required. For teens in grades 6 - 12.
Team Trivia and Feud

Enjoy an afternoon of Team Trivia at the library. Teams can consist of family members or friends or a mix. Not a great trivia player? They’ve still got you covered with a fun round of Family Feud where you can score most of your points. Play against other teams for a chance to win a gift certificate to a local Coppell restaurant. The program is for adults and kids 10 years and older (one adult must be present). Registration is required for each member so they have an accurate count of expected players.

Docent Training

Interested in taking your volunteer service to the next level? Become a BEC Docent! A Docent is an adult volunteer who receives training that qualifies you to facilitate activities unsupervised by staff. Activities may include guiding hikes, leading games or lessons for field trips, facilitating a learn station, and managing group service projects. After reviewing safety protocol and logistics, a newly trained Docent may assist tenured Docents or staff with these activities until you are comfortable leading independently. Please RSVP via email. Guided Bird Walk (Outdoor)
