[ARCHIVED] Coppell Awarded GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting

The City of Coppell is proud to announce that the Finance Department has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for the 32nd consecutive year.

“Winning this award once again shows the City’s dedication to fiscal responsibility and full transparency,” said Jennifer Miller, Director of Finance. “We take great pride in our work to make sure budgets are balanced and monies are spent responsibly.”

The Certificate of Achievement is awarded to state and local governments that go above and beyond the minimum requirements of accounting principles and successfully provide a comprehensive financial report that demonstrates a constructive “spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate the City’s financial story and motivate residents and stakeholders to read the report.

GFOA has presented this award to the city of Coppell every year since 1989. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
