1. What number should I call if I have questions or need assistance?

2. Are the roads passable?

[02.02.2022, 9:45 am] Coppell Public Works crews have treated roadways and bridges, but icy conditions still exist – especially on residential streets, alleyways, bridges, and overpasses. Roads are treacherous, and conditions are not expected to improve until temperatures rise above freezing on Saturday. Avoid the roads, if possible. If you must travel, please use caution when driving. Visit drivetexas.org to check road conditions before heading out.

Coppell Public Works is prepared to perform further de-icing procedures on major roadways in town, but residential streets, sidewalks, and driveways are not usually treated.

3. Will trash and recycling be picked up?

[02.03.2022, 12:50 pm] For the safety of its employees, Republic Services has suspended trash and recycling collection through Friday. Republic Services will resume its normal collection schedule next week. Thank you for understanding!

4. If my pipes burst, how do I shut off my water?

In the event of a broken water pipe, it’s important to shut off your water as soon as possible. The City has put together an instructional video explaining how to open your water meter lid and turn off your water. Watch the video to learn what to do!

5. Does Coppell have a warming center?

At this time, the City of Coppell has not established a warming center. Metrocrest Services has compiled a list of warming centers and other resources to help you navigate available assistance in the community.

6. Will I need a permit to have plumbing repairs completed if I have a pipe break?

Yes. Permits and inspections are important to ensure that the repairs are done correctly and performed by a qualified, licensed plumber. The law requires it to help keep you protected! 7. Does the City have any control over the distribution of electricity?

No, the City has no control over the power grid. ERCOT handles the generation of electricity while Oncor distributes power to customers. 8. How do I contact Oncor?

Oncor is the Transmission and Distribution Service Provider (or TDSP) for Coppell. The TDSP maintains the poles and wires, handles service outages, and reads your meter.

Oncor launched a virtual assistant platform that allows customers to engage with Oncor 24/7. You can now use the virtual assistant chat feature on Oncor.com to report outages, receive status updates and get answers to questions about vegetation management. If the virtual assistant is unable to help you, you will be transferred to a live agent during normal live agent chat hours, 7 am – 7 pm, Monday through Friday.

  • Oncor expects to have routine repairs completed within five business days of notification. If the issue requires a circuit repair, Oncor requires 15 business days for repair. If a streetlight or pole has been knocked down, the repair could take up to 30 days.
